Harsh lighting at the Sunflower Field

I visited Lee Farms Sunflower field, hoping to get some nice photos. The sun was extremely bright and harsh the day we visited, so it was difficult photograph without getting jarring shadows.

Since photographing the flowers wasn’t working out, I thought I could take advantage of the bright lighting and raise my shutter speed to capture a bee in flight. While I was able to get a bee or two in focus, I realized that a macro lens would better suit the task.

It was still a beautiful place to visit, and I’d like to visit again more prepared.
