A friend lent me her Yashica TL Electro X, loaded with half a roll of Candido 200. After using the roll and deciding that I enjoyed shooting with film, I wanted to explore further. She recommended a local camera shop, Blue Moon Camera in St. Johns. I headed over, and asked them which roll a student would use. He recommended Ilford HP5 Plus 400, citing it’s a classic and very forgiving.

I will note that I took the photos at the duck pond during my work lunch, dressed in my work clothes. I was so excited taking photos of the birds in the sky, that I wasn’t looking at the ground where I was walking. I fell in duck shit, and my pants were covered in shit for the rest of the day. I don’t regret it, and I think the bird photos came out nice.

Shortly before finishing the roll, I went back to Blue Moon Camera and purchased a Canon F1 1976.
